About Us

Established in 1971, Anna Marie Oliver School of Dance is one of Ontario’s finest dance schools. It provides dance training for beginners through to professionals, with qualified teachers in all disciplines.
The School’s success is in the programs designed for all children, those who wish to dance for fun, and for those who wish to train in an Intensive Program.
Anna Marie Oliver School of Dance is committed to excellence in dance training. Teachers are constantly training in all elements of dance from the traditional movements of ballet to the latest movements in jazz and tap.
A dress code exist for dance classes, dancewear is available from local shops. Students are required to wear a uniform of pink or black.
Boys and girls in Guelph can take part in after school and weekend dance classes. Children take one, two or three classes a week depending on age and level of training from September to June.
Children are assessed during the first month to ensure interest and suitability of class placement. Classes are limited in size and emphasis is on musicality and enjoyment with concern for structure and technique evolving over time. For those students wishing to take exams, graded examinations in ballet are awarded by the Royal Academy of Dance and in tap and jazz by the Canadian Dance Teachers Association.
For those students not wishing to take exams, weekly classes are available. These classes are designed to challenge and develop young dancers with emphasis put on dancing for fun.
All students may participate in the annual performance held at The River Run in June; it is truly the highlight of the dance year where every child shows his or her talents.
The school is located at 58 Dawson Road with two fully equipped studios custom built for dance. Office is located in the front lobby.
